Meet Your Pastor

Dr. Joe T. Lusby, Pastor
Brother Joe was born and raised in Tupelo, Mississippi. His parents and his two brothers and one sister still reside there. He surrendered to preach at age 17. His home church, First Baptist Church of Tupelo, licensed him to preach at the age of 18. He was ordained by the Alta Mere Baptist Church of Fort Worth, Texas.
Brother Joe holds three earned degrees. He graduated from Ole Miss in 1982 with a bachelor's degree in psychology. In 1987, he received the master of divinity degree from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas. In 1999, he received the doctor of ministry degree from Louisiana Baptist University in Shreveport, Louisiana.
After serving a church in Mississippi and one in Tennessee as minister of youth, Brother Joe began his ministry as pastor. Prior to coming to Greenfield he had served as pastor of three church in Mississippi. Last January, Brother Joe celebrated his eleven year anniversary as pastor of our church here in Greenfield.
Brother Joe is married to the former Patty Watkins. Joe and Patty have three children. Kyle is twenty-one years old and is in pharmacy school at Ole Miss. Kayla is seventeen years old and will graduate in May from Greenfield High School. She also plans to attend Ole Miss this fall as a freshman. Kristen is thirteen years old and is in the seventh grade at Greenfield Junior High School.
Presently, Brother Joe serves as moderator of the Weakley County Baptist Association. He has served on various committees with the Association and with the Tennessee Baptist Convention. He is presently serving on the Credentials Committee of the Tennessee Baptist Convention.
During his leisure time, Brother Joe enjoys early morning exercise and weightlifting. He also enjoys reading, watching Southeastern Conference sporting events, and cheering for his beloved Tennessee Titans.
